A 100 C feletti, túlnyomáson lévő folyékony víz közeg is különleges közeg. Bármilyen csővezeték, nyomástartó edény, tömlővezeték, flexibilis vagy merev vezeték alkalmazása esetén figyelembe kell venni, hogy nyomásvesztés esetén a 100 C feletti víz azonnal gőzzé alakul, mely nagymértékű térfogat változást is okoz. A magas hőmérséklet továbbá gyorsítja az elasztomer (gumi) anyagok öregedését, ezért a magas hőfokon alkalmazott tömlők állapotát rendszeresen ellenőrizni kell. A legkisebb elváltozás esetén is a cseréről - a biztonság érdekében - gondoskodni kell.
